Teens Birthday Card
A friends sons birthday this week , this time a teenage card.
I recently purchased a new Cricut Cartridge called 'Paper Dolls Teen Scene'. Ideal for the older children style cards.
I cut the image 4 times, in white, black, skin tone and brown card stock. The hair overlay was also cut in brown. The body size was 4.5". I cut trousers in black card and grey card , trainers in white and black card and a red top and pocket, a mobile was cut from black cardstock for detail.
The 4 body parts were all layered up, brown at the base, followed by white, then black and skin tone on the top. The brown overlay hair was the last to apply. The trainer parts were glued together and laces drawn in using a black fine liner pen. The black trouser were layered onto the grey card, all parts were glued to the main body.
I created an embossed white backing section using Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder.
This and the pattern backing papers were all inked round the edges with grey ink and matted onto black card. Faux brads from Craftwork card were added to each corner.

Introducing Wellington
With my Dads birthday approaching and Fathers day in June, today I've made some cards using a decoupage kit 'Wellington' from DoCrafts. Its a lovely kit with lovely backing papers and gorgeous teddy bear images...
Its a lovely kit with Wellington in lots of different images - in a Car, with a suitcase, a football supporter, having a pint, fishing, gardening, DIY, with a gramophone, in a post box, with a letter, with a typewriter, with an old dial up phone and the images above.

Card Request
I received a request this week to make a cat card for a lady for her Mother's birthday.
The cat design was from a print, coloured in using Promarkers.
The phrase 'Happy Birthday Mum' was printed and matted and layered onto brown and pink card.
The striped backing paper by 'Stampin Up' was mounted onto brown cardstock, a pink ribbon was attached at the join of the backing paper.
The cat image was matted onto pink and brown card and fixed using 3d foam pads.
Faux Craftwork Cards were fixed at the corners.
Amy's Birthday Card
Amy, a friends daughter has her birthday in May.
Time for Tumble Tizzy Dress Up CD to come out for the main part of the card.
I printed out the digi stamp of Tizzy and coloured in using Promarker pens. Tizzy was cut out with scissors and matted onto a white circle and a larger size pink circle, these were fixed to a craft doily.
A circular Craftwork Card message was matted again onto a pink circle and then a white scalloped circle.
The base dotted paper was matted onto pink card and a ribbon fixed across the base of the card. Craftwork Candi silver faux brads were attached for final detail.

Communion Card
We've been invited to our sons friends Communion this month. As I have never been to a communion service before I did some research on the type of cards sent.
Thought this Magnolia stamp - Edwin Groom would fit the occasion. Stamped and coloured in using promarker and Copic pen and cut out from Spellbinder dies. Mat and layered onto grey and brown card.
Created a personalised message and fixed to base of card on layered coordinating coloured card.

80th Birthday Card
Well Joyce, my husbands Godmother is 80 this month, so a special card was required to celebrate the occasion.
I cut the 'Happy 80th Birthday Joyce' out of cream card using the Cricut Gypsy and Mickey Font Cartridge on the shadow lettering function, the letters were not used I retained the negative card to create the base of my card. The letters were cut out again in orange coordination card.
Using 'chocolate box coordination's' card I used brown with an orange core and cut the phrase again using the standard lettering, theses were all sanded down to show the orange core. The orange shadow size letters were inserted into the gaps on the cream card and mounted onto orange backing card, this was fixed to the main white base card. The sanded brown letters were fixed over the orange letters.
The cakes and candles were cut using Marianne Creatable die, cupcake. This was cut out of the brown, orange and white card. The coordination's card was again sanded down to show the core colour. Pearl beads where attached to the icing layer on the cakes to add detail.
Lets hope Joyce has a fantastic day.

Birthday Card
Card required this week for a special friend and godfather to our son.
Decided to try a bit of CD crafting - all new to me at the moment but used the Tumble Ted CD in the Serif Software.
The backing paper and main circle design of Tumble Ted and bottle top were imported into Serif software.
The backing paper was applied part way up the card with a white gap at the top, a light green border was added at the top of the backing paper. The circle design was punched out on software and applied on top of backing card, a shadow effect was added to the circle.
The bottle top was punched out as a circle on the software but then the scissor option was selected to cut the triangles out of the bottle top to make a zig zag edging, a shadow was also applied to the bottle top. The beer bottle circle was applied to the plain bottle top.
The wording was created and applied to the white panel at the top of card.
Although on the Serif software you can print the whole card out , I decided to use as a topper and mat and layered onto Green card, this was fixed to a black base card.
I don't think its too bad for a first attempt - but so much to learn yet with all the possibilities on the Serif Software.

Rocking Birthday
We are in birthday season in my sons class at school, so another 8th Birthday card required for the lucky birthday boy.
This time I decided on a guitar theme, the boy in question is learning the guitar but getting a bit bored with the lessons so I thought I might to give him some encouragement to continue with it.
The guitarist man and amp were cut from the Cricut 'Everyday doll' cartridge and the notes were cut from Cricut 'Quarter Note' cartridge. The guitar was cut out in both red and black card.
The message was printed out and backed onto red contrasting card.
All pieces were mat and layered on to cream and red card to finish.
Lets hope he has a great Birthday and this encourages him to carry on learning how to play the guitar.

Luigi Style Card
Now a card for my little Boy - who is celebrating his 8th birthday.
My son is mad about the 'Cars' films and obviously all the cars in the film, so I decided on a Luigi style card.
The Cricut 'Cars' Cartridge was used along with the Cricut Gypsy device.
The Black wheel/tyre was modified on the Cricut Gypsy device initially by hiding the Lightening name round the edge of the wheel. This was replaced with the wording Happy Birthday Mark. The main wheel/type part was cut using black card, I then re cut the letters in white card and the nuts and details from the middle of the wheel were cut out in silver mirri card. The white letters and silver card were then fixed like a jigsaw into the main black wheel.
I then cut Luigi straight from the cartridge using, white, yellow, burgundy and silver card , the parts were all fixed to the main black Luigi image, the car was cut at 3.75 inches.
The car was fixed using 3d black foam pads. The tyre was fixed to light grey backing card.
Lets hope he likes his card and has a great Birthday on Cup Final Day.

18th Birthday Card Request
I had a request from my neighbours son to make an 18th birthday card for his girlfriend's 18th birthday this week.
Based on a card created earlier in April, I created a forever friends card , this time with the colour red as opposed to brown, red being more romantic and with a nice heart glitter paper for backing card, ideal for the sender and the recipient.
An appropriate message was printed and attached to the front.
