Look who's 50

Specific card request to create a 50th card for my friends husband based around the image of   'Northern Soul'. I will be honest  even now this card has been created , I'm still none the wiser if this a group or a type of music, but either way lets hope Sean has a great 50th birthday and likes his finished personalised card.

I initially searched 'Northern Soul' on the world wide web to obtain a SVG image . I also had an SVG file for a vinyl record which I knew I could adapt in parts.

Using my new Brother scan n cut canvas program, I imported both SVG files .

The hand image (sorry I dont know what else to call it) was imported with various layers. I decided the number of layers I wanted to retain for the fist. All pieces were cut on the Brother scan n cut 300 machine -  I layered each cut section of the hand using 1mm 3 d foam pads.
The main back section was multiple circles cut and layered and/inserted within each other with the white circle having the letters cut out of it and letters cut seperatly in black card stock fitted back in. I admit it was all a bit fiddly and I was unsure more because I didn't know anything about the image.
With the vinyl record SVG , I deleted the detail on the centre sleeve that was in the original SVG file and again added my own lettering and numbers in the sleeve - the sleeve  was cut in red card stock and then white card stock used to re cut letters and numbers to be added back in.

On the backing card I added the typed messages and fixed both toppers created, side by side. The backing card was matted onto both red and black card stock to finish.
