A Birthday Card for a Well Dressed Gent

A birthday card required this time for a very well dressed Gentleman and friend.

I decided to create a shirt and waistcoat based topper, to add to a card base.

Using the template below, I cut each section out individually.
I cut two shirt sections out using cream pearlescent card. I removed the collar section from one piece and fixed them  together, wrong sides together, and folded the collar section round..   I cut the waistcoat out of striped brown card twice and created a flap over section at the front.  I left extra card tags at the waist and shoulder sections to wrap around the shirt and attach from behind. The waistcost was joined at the front opening using small black button style brads.

The tie was cut from stripped paper and a further knot section was cut and fixed to the top of the tie.

Two sheets of striped were used and mounted onto brown card stock, ensuring the striped pattern continued across the card.

A narrow message was created and matted onto card and fixed to the base card using 1mm 3d foam pads. Small button brads were added to finish the message strip.
