Another Year Owl-der Card

Time to make a birthday card for Sam.

Using my new Stampin Up owl punch, I decided to create an owl card based on a birthday theme.
The basic owl shape was punched out of brown card stock, the eyes were punched in white, green and brown card stock. A further eye was cut in brown card and cut in half to create the eye lids. The nose was the heart shape on the punch , this was cut out of cream card.

A small scalloped circle was cut from brown card and cut in half to create the owl wings. The owl breast section was punched in patterned card and a lighter brown card. Finally a white scalloped circle was cut to create the edging to the dress secton. All the punched pieces were glued together.

The party hat was created using the Stampin Up Bunting punch, the pattern paper was punched using the plain triangle of the punch and the hat border was cut from the scalloped bunting and repunched again to create trim. The bobble on the hat was an eye from the owl punch.

The balloons were cut from patterned paper using a Sizzix Sizzlets die, thread was tied round the base of the balloons and attached to the owls wing.

The cut owl was position on a branch cut from dark brown card, using Lea'bilities die , this was attached to a white oval mounted on a green scalloped oval.

A small section of pattered paper was fixed to a white piece of card which was mounted onto orange card stock, this was attached to the square base card. Four decorative corners were cut using Die-namics Photo Corners to add detail. A small strip of orange card was fixed across the join .

The oval topper, owl and balloons were fixed to the base card using 1mm 3d foam pads.

A personalised message was printed and punched out using the Stampin Up oval punch , a green mount was cut using the matching scalloped punch.

Lets hope Sam has a lovely day.
