50 years old and climbing a Mountain

A Special request this week for a card for a friends Brother in law who is 50 this month. He has recently done a walk to Mount Everest Base camp so this was the theme of his card.

Using the Cricut Gypsy and Everyday Paperdoll cartridge, I selected the mountain range image and using Mickey Font cartridge welded shadow lettering to part of the edge of the mountain in an upward direction.  A square was adapted on the Cricut Gypsy machine to create a flag pole and this was welded to the top of the mountain section. This main section was cut from dark grey card, this being the bottom layer. The mountain image was then copied and lowered and cut again in light grey card , this was the repeated and cut again using white card. The three layers were glued together to create a gradual variation in the mountain colour.  The mountain was then cut to fit the size of card used and the left over section was fixed behind the main mountain piece.

A map of the Himalayers was printed and an image of a walking boot was printed twice on to bazzill card stock. The map was cut and matted onto green cardstock. Light blue card was cut and matted onto green card and fixed to a 6" x 6" card.  The two mountain pieces were fixed to the base card.

Lettering was then cut in green card stock using Cricut Mickey Font Cartridge and fixed over the shadow lettering. The dot of the i was fixed using a small square of 3d foam.

A flag was cut on the Cricut machine and the number 50 in green were fixed to the flag. The flag section was attached to the pole using  1mm 3d foam.

The walking boots were cut out and fixed to the card to finish.
