Jade is 30 - fly fly away.....

This time card requests for a Virgin Air stewardess who's reaching the BIG 30th Birthday this weekend.

I was asked to create two cards, both with a air stewardess theme using the Cricut Paperdolls Cartridges.

After investigating the current Virgin cabin crew uniform, I selected clothing from both Cricut Paperdoll  and Everyday Paperdolls cartridges.

For the larger a5 sized card, the doll was cut at 3.75 ". The face was created using Sizzix face stamps and then the eye sections were stamped onto white paper and cut out and glued to the main stamped image. The blue colour of the eyes was added using a Promarker pen with a fine nib attached.

The ticket messages were printed onto Bazzill white card stock, and cut using Whimsy Stamps Ticket Die, these were then cut again from both red and purple card stock. The coloured cut tickets were cut in half to create a border effect at each end. The suitcases were cut from Cricut Paperdolls Cartridge, there were cut from 3 different colours of brown card stock and sections cut out from each to create different coloured suitcases with contrasting detail.

White Bazzill card was matted onto red and purple card stock and fixed to the base card. Four photo corners were cut using  Die namic Photo corner dies set, from purple card stock and fixed to each corner using double sided tape.

The main doll image was fixed in the centre of the card and the two suitcases slanted outwards at the  bottom of the card.

The four tickets were attached overlapping each other using both double sided tape and 1mm 3d foam pads.

This others smaller card was created, cutting the Cricut doll at size 3" , the plane was cut from Paperdolls for Everyday cartridge, this was cut from both white and red card and sections cut out and joined to added detail and hopefully look similar to the Virgin planes currently in use.

The clouds were cut from Paperdolls Everyday cartridge and stretch and altered in height using the Cricut Gypsy Device.

The suitcase was created as above from Cricut Paperdolls Cartridge and the handle part was taken from the same cartridge but was originally the toddlers brick trolley, the handle and first wheel was used only, the remaining part was cut away.

Light blue card was matted onto purple card stock and fixed to the 6" x 6" base card. A small green section was cut and fixed tot the bottom of the card. Two photo corners were cut and fixed to the lower corners only.

The clouds were fixed using both double sided tape and 1mm 3d foam pads, the aeroplane was fixed using 1m foam pads to add dimension.

The main doll image was fixed to the side of the card pulling the suitcase trolley, both were fixed using double sided tape.

A personalised message was printed and cut using Sizzix Banner die, it was cut again in red card stock which was cut in half and fixed to create a border around the message.
