A card for my Wonderful Dad

A special card this month for a wonderful man and friend - my Dad who turns 80 this year.

All his life he has been involved in football and refereeing (much to my mums disgust) so the theme of the card was obvious.

The base of the card was a green piece of Bazzill Basic card cut slightly smaller than the base card.

The white football pitch border was created on my Cricut Gypsy device using rectangles, circles and oval shapes. Each line was created from a rectangle where the dimensions were changed to create a thin border strip, four of these were welded together to create the main outside of the pitch. The centre line was welded in a similar manner. The penalty sections were created in the same way but cut out separately, the centre circle and corner sections were two circles of different size, again these were cut out separately.

The referee character was cut using Cricut Paperdolls and Everyday Cartridges , the boots were cut in both white and black card and the white boots cut to create strips on the black pair. The white socks were a pair of boots where the foot section was hand cut down so the football boot covered it. The black kit was created from the sports section of the cartridges, I choose black as this was the traditional colour kit my Dad used to wear.

The two football's were cut from a Quick Kutz slim die and the white section matted onto and glued onto the plain black circle.

A personalised message was printed, I recall a similar message previously and as Dad used to be a goal keeper in his early years I incorporated that into the message. This was matted onto black card stock.

Lets hope my Dad has a fantastic 80th Birthday.
