As the sex of the twins was unknown I prepared both a pink version, blue version and also a mixed coloured one in both colours, to cover all eventualities.
Once the twins were born and the sexes confirmed - both girls, I finished the card as follows.
The image was stamped onto white card stock, the stamped image used was from House-Mouse Designs Allsorts Rubber Stamps - Cosy Toes set . The images were coloured in using Promarker pens to match the pink and blue base card stock used.
The Pink image version was cut to a shaped square using Spellbinders labels 1 die set , this was cut again from both pink coloured card stock and silver mirror card. The card and mirror card were cut down the centre and fixed to the main image slightly offset to create a shadow mat effect.
A patterned pink worded paper was cut into a square shape and matted on to silver mirror card and then light pink card and fixed to the base card which was an 8" x 8" size. A border strip was created of the same pink card and mirror card, light pink organza ribbon was tied across the border. The border strip was then fixed to the patterned paper.
The main image was fixed across the border strip using 1mm 3d foam pads.
Two small feet charms where fixed on each side of the border strip and tied with organza ribbon.
A personalised message was printed, the baby girls names and date of their birth, this was matted and layered to match the main image matting and fixed to the lower section of the card. Two Craftwork Cards brads were fixed to finish.
So as not to waste the blue version, I created a smaller card for a baby boy, this time cut using Spellbinder Circle dies, and the blue shadow shape was cut using Cheery Lynne French Pastry Doily die. The blue worded backing paper was matted onto blue card stock and fixed to the base card. this being 6" x 6"size. Blue Grosgrain ribbon was fixed across the lower section of the card and a feet charm fixed again using blue organza ribbon. The main coloured image was matted onto the blue doily and fixed to the base card using 1mm 3d foam pads.
